Your Finish May Bless Someone Else
So Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Exodus 40:33-34
Finishing what we start is not only beneficial to us; it can also become a blessing to others. When we follow through on what we have begun, our example can encourage someone who is struggling, discouraged, or tempted to quit. Our journey can demonstrate what perseverance, discipline, consistency, and endurance look like in practice. Sometimes the greatest impact of finishing is not simply the accomplishment itself, but the courage, wisdom, and inspiration it gives to those who are watching.
Exodus 40:33–34 provides a powerful picture of this principle. After carefully following God’s instructions, Moses completed the construction and arrangement of the tabernacle. Scripture says, “So Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.” Moses’ obedience did not benefit him alone. What he completed became a sacred place where the entire nation of Israel could experience the presence of God. His faithfulness created an opportunity for others to encounter something they could not have experienced in the same way had the work remained unfinished.
The same can be true of the assignments God places in our hands. The business you complete may provide employment for others. The ministry you establish may become a place of healing and restoration. The education you finish may prepare you to teach, lead, or mentor someone else. The book you complete may encourage a person going through a difficult season. Even the personal work of healing, forgiveness, or breaking unhealthy patterns can bless your family and future generations. We may begin an assignment thinking about what it will accomplish for us, only to discover that God intended our completion to benefit people we had not yet considered.
Imagine someone building a bridge across a river. During construction, the process may involve long days, setbacks, difficult decisions, limited resources, and moments when quitting seems easier. Yet when the bridge is finally completed, countless people can cross where they could not before. The builder endured the process, but others received the benefit. In the same way, some of the things God has called us to finish may become bridges for other people. Your finish may open a door, create an opportunity, inspire someone to persevere, break a generational cycle, or prepare a path for another person to walk. Do not underestimate the importance of completing what God has entrusted to you; someone else may be blessed because you chose to finish.
Questions for Reflection:
What have you started that God may be calling you to finish? Who might eventually be encouraged, helped, strengthened, or blessed because you remained faithful and completed it?
Prayer:
Lord, give me the strength, discipline, wisdom, and perseverance to finish what You have entrusted to me. Help me remember that my assignments may be connected to purposes greater than myself. When I become discouraged, remind me that someone else may be blessed because I chose to remain faithful. Give me the grace to complete my work with excellence and obedience so that my finish can become a blessing to others. Amen.
