THE COST OF SALVATION

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

It is easy to underappreciate and take for granted the gift of salvation given to us through Jesus Christ. Many Christians act as if they are doing Jesus a favor when they give their lives to him. They forget about the price he paid to save us.

Salvation may be free, but it is not cheap. The price for salvation was paid in blood—Divine blood. There is no repayment for our Savior’s blood. Silver and gold are worthless in the cosmological struggle for the souls of humanity.

Jesus not only died for our salvation; he ascended to heaven to intercede for us so we would not lose our salvation. An ongoing cosmological battle is waged every day for the souls of humanity. However, we are guaranteed eternal life because of our Savior’s love and power.

The guarantee of salvation does not give us the luxury of spiritual inertia. We are saved to work. Jesus expects his followers to share the good news of salvation so that the unsaved are nor robbed of their gift of salvation.

The Devil is a thief. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus not only paid for our salvation, but he also ensures it as well. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

Christians are the envy of all the beings in the heavenly realm. We are the only created beings that were both created in the image of God and redeemed by the blood of the Son of God. No other being can make that claim.

We should be motivated to spread the good news about the gift of salvation. As the world continues to decline into spiritual darkness, we have to let our light shine so people can find their way to Christ. That may require some sacrifice from us individually. Indeed, you and I do not have to die for anyone to be saved. However, we may have to sacrifice our lives to spread the good news about salvation.

Walking in salvation is costly. Proclaiming salvation through Christ Jesus is definitely costly. Many Saints of God have been martyred for sharing the gospel. Unfortunately, many Christians give up on their faith because they expected the Christian life to be comfortable and trouble-free. We have to pray for brothers and sisters that are still ambivalent in their Christian walk.

One of the reasons Christians go through so many trials and difficulties is precisely because they are saved. Our salvation is costly to the demonic kingdom. It signifies the imminent destruction of all demonic spirits; thus, why you and I will always be the target of demonic attacks.

Jesus paid a debt he did not owe because we owe a debt we could not pay. He invites us to surrender our lives to him because he paid the cost to redeem our lives. That is a good enough reason for every believer to live with joy. We should also be motivated to share the good news of salvation to those who have yet to accept that precious, blood-bought gift.

Prayer- Blessed Lord, please send messengers to the unsaved so they can accept the gift of salvation. And may those of us that have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior dedicated our lives to demonstrate our gratitude for the wonderful gift of eternal life.
