GOD'S STIMULUS PACKAGE

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Joel 2:28 ESV

Last month, the government approved a $2.3 Trillion Stimulus package intended to rescue the US economy from imminent collapse because of the negative impact of COVID-19 on the world’s economy. Consequently, it was decided that any taxpayer that earned less than $75K in the fiscal year 2018, 2019 would get $1500. This is to stimulate spending because the US economy is consumer-based. If consumers do not spend, businesses will stop hiring and start cutting their payroll. That would create a cyclical effect as unemployment increases and spending decreases.

God’s kingdom economy is also consumer-based. Its optimum functionality depends on believers using their time, talents, and treasure for kingdom purposes. Even during this pandemic season, God is pouring out his Spirit on all flesh so we can bring God’s kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.

The prophetic declaration of Joel 2:28 is being fulfilled in our lifetime. During this season of sheltering-in-place, God is pouring out His Spirit upon His people to stimulate us for the work of ministry. God is offering his stimulus package to those that are weary and heavily laden. He is giving strength to the weak and hope to the hopeless.

God wants his people to be spiritually stimulated to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. If we do not share the gospel, the people of the world will become more wicked. This will lead to a cyclical effect as more wicked people will reject the gospel, and move away from the light of Christ.

Only people who filed taxes in 2018, 2019, are eligible to get a stimulus check from the government. However, God is offering a spiritual stimulus to anyone willing to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He is willing to pour out his Spirit on all flesh. The Lord wants everyone to experience the beauty of his holiness. He wants to sanctify our souls and transform us into kingdom emissaries.

Whereas the US economy is on the brink of a depression, there is no scarcity in the Kingdom of God. The Lord’s business remains fully operational and transformational. Therefore, let us not use sheltering-in-place as an excuse for idleness. Though we may not be able to have corporate worship, we can still use our gifts to help make disciples for Christ.

To my brothers and sisters who are feeling gloomy, miss corporate worship, or are uncertain about their finances, or grieving the loss of a loved one, or miss the fellowship with other brothers and sisters; God wants to stimulate your spirit. Look to God to stimulate your marriage or your finances, or your employment or your relationship with your children and with extended family members. Let his Holy Spirit saturate your soul so you can walk in the joy of your salvation, and be an agent of hope to the hopeless.

Prayer- Blessed Lord, we invite you to pour out your spirit on us all in this season so we can be stimulated to do your kingdom work.
