GOD IS STILL MOVING

Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:30

With hundreds of thousands of people dying from COVID-19 and millions more losing their jobs, it may seem as if God has taken his eye off the ball, so to speak. The increasing rate of people suffering from depression and other forms of mental diseases, suggests that many people are losing their faith in God and struggling to cope with the pressures of the world. Many people have stopped praying and resigned themselves to accept their circumstances no matter how bad they may be.

Although more than 20 million people have been infected with COVID-19 worldwide, believers need to remember that God is still moving upon the earth. Behold, God is not on a vacation. Nor has the Almighty surrendered his Sovereign position as the Lord of everything on earth and in heaven.

God is still moving in hospitals and nursing homes. He is still moving in the economy and the political system. The Lord has not retired from his commitment to sustain and support his creation. Even now he is still healing and saving souls. The Lord is still feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and providing shelter for the homeless.

Believers should come along the side of God to be used by the Almighty so others can see that God is still moving. Indeed, it is through you and me that others will experience the powerful move of God in their lives. We have to stretch out our hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Jesus.

The miracles the hungry need can only be realized when believers feed the hungry. It is through believers that God will fix the political mess in this country. God cannot move to end the pandemic when so many people still refuse to wear masks or practice social distancing. Last month it was reported that a 105-year-old lady, recovered from COVID-19. During the peak of the pandemic, my 93-year-old father who resides in a nursing facility in New Jersey had a high fever, but his children prayed and the Lord moved.

Without faith is it impossible to perform signs and wonders in the name of Jesus. Unfortunately, many people are waiting for God to perform magic instead of a miracle. They are not using their faith to stretch out their hands over their finances, health, marriages, businesses, children, and their ministry. Instead, they are waiting for God to do all the heavy lifting while they are watching a movie on Netflix.

One of the reasons Jesus gave disciples and us the power to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead, and set the captives free is precisely because we are the agency by whom God is moving upon the earth. We are, after all, God’s workmanship, created through Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared for us before the creation of the world (Ephesians 2:10). It is time that believers walk in that God-given identity and stand boldly as representatives of Jesus Christ in the world.

When we struggle to see how God is moving in our lives and the world, we need to ask the Holy Spirit to remove our blinders. Then we need to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us the best way God can perform signs and wonders through us. I believe the greatest miracles we will see are the ones we perform by faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer- Blessed Lord, please give us the faith to stretch out our hands to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Jesus Christ.
