Everyone is invited but not everyone will get in

“For many are invited, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:14


Queen Elizabeth’s funeral is one of the most exclusive ceremonies in the post-modern era. It is so exclusive that only the President of the United States was invited to represent the US. A Chinese government delegation was even barred from attending the lying-in-state of the Queen. Regular individuals lined up for miles and waited for hours just to get a glimpse of the coffin.


The celebration and coronation Jesus Christ is planning for His Church are far more exclusive. Though the whole world is invited to attend, only those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will get in. Many potentates and celebrities will be denied access. Even some notable religious leaders will be denied access. Many will be shocked to see some who were poor, illiterate, neglected, and oppressed on earth as prominent guests at the celebration.


No human event will ever come close to the auspiciousness of that celebration. Even the angels in heaven will be in awe of what God has planned for those who will get in. The devil and His demons are well aware of the exclusivity of that celebration. They know they will not be allowed to attend it because they are doomed to eternal destruction. Thus, they are determined to prevent as many people as possible from attending that celebration.


The ministry of every believer is to let the world know that everyone is invited to that celebration. All they must do is say yes to Jesus and their invitation will be validated and their name will be written on the guest’s list for that celebration. No one can remove any name that is on that guest’s list.


There is still time to add your name to that list if you have not already done so. Indeed, today is a great day to invite Jesus into your heart and make up your mind to live for Him. Then your name will be instantly added to that auspicious list, and you will be granted access to the divine palace where the celebration will take place.


I want to be one of the chosen who is allowed in that celebration. Thus, I am pressing on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14). I am also getting my clothes ready for that celebration. In Romans 13:14, Paul teaches believers who want to go to that celebration to clothe themselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. There is one more thing I must do to keep my name on that exclusive list; I must do the great commission work of Jesus Christ.


In the meantime, I am eagerly awaiting the rapture, which will be the spiritual transportation that will take every believer to that celebration. Finally, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— I am thinking about such things so I can be ready to celebrate with Jesus for eternity.


What about those whose names are not on the exclusive list and are not allowed in that celebration? According to Matthew 25:41, Jesus will tell them, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Wow!

Prayer- Holy Father, I thank you for writing my name in the book of life and for giving me unrestricted access to the glories of heaven. Please give me the discipline to live a Christ-centered life by the power of your Holy Spirit so I can definitely partake in the grand ceremony you have planned for the Church of Jesus Christ.
