Avoid self-condemnation
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus… Romans 8:1
Throughout the month of September, our focus has been on finishing what we started. But as we close this series, I want to remind you of something equally important: do not condemn yourself if you have not finished, if you fell short, or if you are still struggling to complete what you began. Progress does not always happen according to the timetable we envisioned, and failure to finish does not mean that God has finished with us. Romans 8:1 reminds us, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” God’s response to our shortcomings is not to imprison us in shame but to call us back to grace, restoration, growth, and renewed obedience.
We must remember that condemnation is inconsistent with the redemptive work of Christ. God loved us enough to send Jesus to bear the penalty for our sins and make reconciliation with Him possible. Because of Christ, our failures do not have to become our identity, and our mistakes do not have to determine our future. God may convict us when something needs to change, but conviction leads us toward repentance and restoration; condemnation leaves us feeling hopeless, ashamed, and convinced that we can never recover.
The voice of condemnation continually reminds us of what went wrong, what we should have done, and how badly we failed. The enemy would rather keep us rehearsing yesterday’s mistakes than preparing for tomorrow’s possibilities. If he can convince us that our failures have permanently disqualified us, he can keep us emotionally and spiritually trapped in a season God is calling us to leave behind. Condemnation keeps pointing backward, but grace gives us permission to get back up and move forward.
So, if you did not finish everything you intended to finish, resist the temptation to condemn yourself. Learn from what happened, take responsibility where necessary, receive God’s forgiveness, and determine what your next faithful step should be. Some things may still need to be completed, while others may simply need to be released into God’s hands. Either way, do not allow an unfinished assignment to become an excuse for an unfinished life. God’s grace is still available, your story is still being written, and there is still opportunity to move forward.
Question for Reflection:
What unfinished area of your life have you been condemning yourself over, and how can you receive God’s grace and take the next faithful step forward?
Prayer:
Lord, help me release self-condemnation, receive Your grace, and move forward with renewed faith and courage.

Although that provides the idea of being amazing, I am still not really sure if I enjoy it. In any case, I will investigate it further and make a decision eventually! tonic water
