User Access

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

In Clinical Research, databases are set up to capture the Clinical data to be analyzed before the data is submitted to the FDA. Those databases are highly classified because the sponsors spend hundreds of millions of dollars for their data in the hope of getting FDA approval for their drugs. Only individuals that are approved to work on the databases are granted access. This access is called user access. That access is documented in a spreadsheet that is required by the sponsor and the FDA to ensure the safety, privacy, and confidentiality of the users and the data.

In today’s text, Peter tells the Sanhedrin council that Jesus is the only way to the Father. Followers of Jesus Christ have user access to God’s throne of grace. For, Jesus alone is the mediator between God and humanity (1Timothy 2:5). He is the gateway to glory and the highway to heaven.

There is no access to God or heaven without Jesus. That is why he told his disciples in John 14:3, I am going away to prepare a place for you. Moreover, I will come again to take you to heaven. Jesus manages the database with all the names of the people who are saved. Any name that is not on his User Access spreadsheet will be denied access to heaven.

In clinical research, once the study is over, access for all users is canceled, and the database is decommissioned. However, our access to heaven through Jesus Christ will never be revoked. He will never take our name off the book of life. Because of this access, we can come boldly to God’s throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Our user access does not only give us access to heavenly glory, but it offers earthly benefits as well. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites those who have accepted him to come to him, and he will give us rest. Because of our access to Jesus Christ, we have power and authority over forces of evil.

The devil and his demons are determined to have our spiritual access revoked. All their demonic attacks and temptations are designed to put enmity between believers and God so our names can be taken off the book of life. They have succeeded in convincing many people around the world that they don’t need access to God, or that access to God can be granted through other means. Thus, there are hundreds of different religions around the world, and each religion professes to offer the path to God.

The Christian message is clear and precise. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Simply stated, without Jesus, all access to God is denied. Thus, we pray in the name of Jesus. Our worship must be Christ centered and Holy Spirit led. We have faith because of Jesus, and our service to the kingdom of God is in the name of Jesus.

In Acts 19:11-20, the seven sons of Sceva tries to use the name of Jesus for their exorcism business. However, because they did not have a relationship with Jesus Christ, and were not granted access to the spiritual power and authority that Jesus gave to his followers to defeat demonic forces, they were attacked by the demonic spirit they tried to cast out. Yet, Paul was able to cast the spirit of divination from the young Philippian slave girl (Acts 16:12-40).

At the moment a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; they are given their spiritual user access. Unfortunately, many believers are not using their access to God’s throne of grace. Instead, they are trying to use backdoor channels to access God. However, as Jesus said to his disciples in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Prayer- Blessed Lord, I thank you for granted us access to your eternal glory through Jesus Christ.
